How to use
- Drop the locked PDF into the box or click to choose it. The tool detects which kind of lock it has.
- If it needs a password to open, enter the password you know and press Unlock PDF. If it only blocks printing or copying, press Remove restrictions.
- An unlocked copy (name-unlocked.pdf) is saved. Your original file is not changed.
FAQ
Can it unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. This tool does not guess, crack or bypass unknown open passwords. You need the password that opens the file; if you've lost it, ask whoever sent the document.
What's the difference between a password and restrictions?
An open (user) password is needed just to view the file. Restrictions come from a permissions (owner) password: the file opens normally, but printing, copying or editing is blocked. The tool removes both, as long as you can open the file.
Will unlocking change the content or quality?
No. On the website the encryption is removed losslessly, so text, images and links stay exactly as they were. Only if your browser can't run the engine can you choose an image-based copy, where text is no longer selectable.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The PDF and password are only used inside your browser and are never stored or uploaded.
Is this legal?
Removing the password from your own documents is normal use. Don't use it on files you don't have the right to access, and respect copyright on protected documents. You are responsible for how you use it.
